Six (& sick) on Saturday

1.  I am behind a day on posting our weekly update thanks to the head cold turned sinus infection I acquired from Matt--he's such a generous sharer. ;)  I have never had a sinus infection with such sinus pressure.  I guess I have lucked out in the past, but this thing is a beast.  I went to a clinic on Thursday (day 5) when I showed no signs of improving any time soon.  I saw a great nurse practitioner who put an antibiotic on hold for me but said to tweak my OTC regiment to make it a little stronger and see if I could kick this on my own through the weekend.  So if I'm not notably better by Monday, I can fill the Rx.  I feel like I'm seeing some improvement during the day, but I'm not convinced yet that I won't need the Rx. :(  Maybe the next 2 days will make a difference!

2.  I have spent most of the week blowing my nose, and my poor Rudolph nose shows it.  But we've also done some other fun things!  We did our usual grocery shopping early in the week, but we had some FUN extras planned for later in the week.

3.  On Wednesday we met some cousins for play time at a local gym.  The open up most of the gymnastics equipment, but our kids gravitated toward the foam pit :), some balance beam action, and running races down the vault runway (it's bouncy, but not as bouncy as the floor exercise area).  They had so much fun!  And they ran their little legs off!  Even Anna Reaghan loved running around, walking on some balance beams, going down a slide, and walking down a wedge ramp (it was a foam mat, too, so she really had to balance as she walked down).  She tried the foam pit, but she preferred for us to make her towers of the foam cubes for her to knock down and throw back into the pit. :)  I think Asa's favorite activity was running down the vault runway at FULL speed, and then belly flopping onto a pile of mats at the end of it (still full speed).  As we left, Asa announced, "I like this gymnasium day!"  I think we'll be going back. ;)  And Asa has specifically requested that we take Daddy with us next time. :)

(I have more pictures of Asa, but they include his cousins as well.
So you'll just have to make do with some Anna Reaghan cuteness)

4.  On Friday Asa painted the last 2 sets of crosses for our Lenten/Holy week crosses.  He already made a purple one for Lent and a green one for Palm Sunday.  Yesterday he painted a black and red one for Good Friday and a yellow one for Easter.  He looooooved it.  He was so excited he was even making up little songs he sang to Anna Reaghan about how much he loves her.  Painting put him in a GREAT mood!  Then both of the kids had a fun, long bath after painting (they both LOVE baths). :)  I made pizza for dinner, and we had a very low-key evening.

5.  We obtained pre-approval for a mortgage this week, and we are counting down to next Saturday when our Realtor is taking us to see our current top 2 houses!  Eeeeeeeeek!!!  Only God knows if we'll like either of them in person as much as we like them on paper & in pictures.  But it is very exciting to begin the process of looking. :)

6.  Today we will attend the wedding of the sister (Amanda) of my BEST friend from middle school (Ashley).  Ashley was one of my bridesmaids, and we have certainly talked and emailed since then but had not been in town at the same time until last month for Amanda's bridal shower!  I got to see Ashley for the first time in over seven years!!  It was WONDERFUL!!!  Ashley will be in town for about another week and a half, so we are definitely hoping she and her Samuel (1 year old) will be able to come play with Asa and Anna Reaghan (and me).  I love and am SO thankful for Ashley and that she is the kind of friend I could go 7 years without seeing but pick up right where we left off.  What a gift and blessing!
