Start Spreading the News

We've had some major rumblings going on behind the scenes around here.  I waited to say anything on the blog only so we could have some firm information in place before telling our landlord and so Matt could inform some friends so they would hear it from him first.... but we are MOVING!

What?!?

You read that right!

While I was still in Tennessee with the kids in July and Matt had returned to Ohio, he attended a company meeting at which time it was announced his company is closing effective the end of October.  It was quite a shock to say the least.

Matt was immediately (i.e. within 15 minutes of the meeting's conclusion) contacted by recruiters.  He had several phone interviews and pursued several leads.  God provided opportunities abundantly.  At one point he was cruising through the interview process with 4 companies.  Three were very strong contenders, and one wasn't quite the right fit so Matt bowed out of that one.  Of the remaining 3, two were a few steps ahead of the third in the interview process and by the time he could go interview in person he was expecting offers and didn't want to waste their time and money.  He received offers from two companies and settled on a job in.....

KNOXVILLE!  We are moving HOME!!  I still can hardly believe it!  We stand in awe of what God has done!

Now we are checking Craigslist and other rental sites daily looking for a home to rent for the next year, starting to clean out and pack up, and trying to present the concept of "moving" to Asa in a non-threatening way.  Telling him he'll see G-Pa and G-Ma every week and live only 4 hours from Nana and Poppy is sure helping with that. :)  Anna Reaghan is sweetly oblivious (which is definitely good since she's already a mess working on cutting more teeth). :)

We covet your prayers as we seek to coordinate all the details of this move--packing, finding a home to rent, saying good-bye here/finishing well, and getting settled/forming a new routine in TN.

We have a couple months yet before we  move.  We are looking at heading down sometime the end of October.  Just in time for my birthday and then to be SO much closer to family for the holidays.  AMAZING!
