1. We have had an eventful Thursday evening/Friday morning. Last night in the middle of Asa's bedtime story he told me his arm hurt and he needed a "bam-baid." I started inquiring further and found that he would NOT use his left arm/hand for any reason. Matt was at Bible study, so we texted back and forth and decided to give him Motrin and sleep on it because there was no bruising or swelling. This morning we checked Asa out together before Matt left for work, and he still refused to use his left arm/hand at all, his hand was swollen, and we were pretty sure the pain was mostly localized to his wrist area. We got an appointment with the pediatrician for 10:00. After assessing him, she told us she'd be pretty much shocked if his wrist wasn't fractured based on how he was acting and responding to her evaluation. So our next stop was Children's hospital for x-rays. As we sat in the waiting room, we noticed something odd. Asa was no longer babying his left arm. He put full weight on his wrist climbing on and off the chairs in the waiting room. He gave us high 5s, played with toys that required all kinds of wrist manipulation. Unbelievable. The x-rays showed that everything is NORMAL. PRAISE THE LORD! Our best guess is something was slightly out of joint and the pediatrician's assessment popped it back into place? God is SO good (He would be good if Asa were sporting a cast, too, but we are so thankful he's not!)!!
2. We had decided on a red cast, in case you're wondering. Red for Christmas and Lightning McQueen. :)
3. We are hoping to pick out a Christmas tree tomorrow at the tree farm we found our tree last year. No snow on the ground this year, but it will be plenty cold at least.
4. Matt has strung some fun lights around the loft area. It's fun to turn all the lights off in the evening and cuddle on the couch together under only the twinkle of the Christmas lights.
5. Anna Reaghan continues to sleep a bit better. The past three nights she's woken to eat at 3:30, then 5:30 the next night/morning, and last night was a full 12 hours (whaaaaat?). This is SUCH a 180 degree turn-around and very encouraging for however long it lasts. :)
