21. Good News
1. I am thankful for the GOOD NEWS of the Gospel!
2. I am thankful for good news that baby Andy is doing better today. :)
3. I am thankful for encouragement from the lactation consultant today. During my appointment, Anna Reaghan ate as much as she is expected to in a feeding! At the end of the day when milk supply is usually the lowest! So the milk is THERE, we just need to get her to eat it. It sounds like we have maybe hit the perfect storm of typical 4 month fussiness and distraction + some reflux + typical supply adjustment as pregnancy hormones really wane + Anna Reaghan DOES have a posterior tongue tie (just.like.Asa... I KNEW IT!). So, our plan of attack is to try to relax, add an extra evening feeding to get her over this hurdle, pump in the morning and give her whatever I get to top her off so my body gets to message not to decrease supply even while AR is working through her kinks, keep on with other things we're doing to encourage things to smooth out (various positions, reflux meds, some herbs for me, no dairy, tomato, or citrus for me), and we will pursue correcting her tongue tie until we find someone who will clip it. We are at the exact same point Asa fell his first growth curve (4 months) and by his 6 month appointment he'd dropped abysmally. We are not waiting for that to happen again!
Today someone in our Sunday school class sent out an email that included this snippet:
The thread of God’s sovereignty, His love for His people, and His desire
for our trust and obedience throughout Scripture is overwhelming. In II Chronicles, the people of Judah are being attacked, and
realize they have no chance. But, they turn to God, and tell Him, we
trust you, our eyes on are you. God responds by saying the battle is
mine.
As I read that this afternoon, God reminded me He knows Anna Reaghan more intimately than I ever will and He will uphold her. I didn't know how the appointment today would work out, but I knew this battle is/was God's and I could rest in that. He is faithful. And that is very good news indeed.
