I took both kids to the playground Tuesday afternoon after nap time. I had not taken them both by myself before. I envisioned Asa running around like crazy and me trying in vain to follow him with Anna Reaghan in her carseat strapped to the stroller... or even if I was wearing her it could be a challenge. I would not say Asa is a "runner," but I had to consider the worst case scenario--and it seemed overwhelming. But the end of fall is drawing nigh and I have tried to be very intentional about doing special things and being outside before winter hits. It's almost November which is supposed to be our first snow month, so I figured I should try it while I still could. Asa had so.much.fun. :) After a brief jaunt on the walking trail and by the duck pond, we settled in at the sandbox. AR just chilled and watched all the big kids run around. Neither of them cried a peep, and Asa did not get lost. He stayed in one place (the sandbox) for most of an hour! He was THRILLED, and I was so happy he had fun and it went so well!

Hopefully the snow will hold off a little longer so we can do this again! Also, I must tell you that Asa insisted we bring Lightning McQueen and Owl with us in the van. He brought Owl on our walk, and at one point he said to me, "Owl talking to me," and held him right up to his face like he was whispering things to Asa. Then he said, "Give a big kiss!" and acted like Owl gave him a big kiss. Toooo sweet. Love his imagination (it's bursting at the seems right now!). :)
p.s. As soon as we walked through the door at home, he recounted to me and acted out everything he played at the playground. It was too cute. :) He was just a liiiiittle excited. :)
p.p.s. In light of my last post about cheese, Asa overheard me sharing about his new food love with G-Ma while we were getting ready to head home in the van. From the backseat I heard, "Cheeeeeese! I have cheese on my plate at dinner! I eat cheese! Cheeeeeeese!" :)
