Nap Time

What do we do when we are lucky enough to have Anna Reaghan nap in a bed and I have ONE on ONE time with my sweet Asa?  Well, I briefly introduced him to some very simple preschool sorting and patterning activities which he loved.  Then I added in a step using a glue stick, and he was HOOKED.  Here's a little of what we've been up to.  I love seeing the little wheels turning in his head, watching his excitement, and listening to him him explain what he did to Matt when Daddy gets home.  We proudly display his work on the fridge, and Asa will return to it for days telling me about what he did.  So much fun! :)

I usually have him do the "game" without any gluing down first.  Then we mix everything up and repeat it, gluing down the pieces his second time around.  He loves his "games" so much!

His first game.  He sorted pictures of apples and leaves.

He can already figure out A-B patterns! :)
  And sometimes A-A-B patterns, too.

Here we sorted "buggies" from "animals."

Next week we're sorting cars vs. animals and then I have a fun fall themed preposition book we'll make.  We have also made a Creation book.  We used the Jesus Storybook Bible to make it, and Asa told me what to add for each day.  I still need to take pictures of it, so stay tuned. :)

It's not all "games" though.  We have PLENTY of time playing cars, cooking in his kitchen, throwing balls and making tents in the basement.  Or doing things like this...

I love my special one and one time with Asa.  He is growing up all too quickly, and I am so thankful for the sweet memories we make and for time to be home with him every day to soak him up!
