Five on Friday

1.  Catch up.  On sleep that is.  Asa has been napping a little extra long the past few days.  I am so glad he's getting the rest he needs!  Yesterday morning he was chatting to himself in bed before I went to get him up, and he fell back asleep!  Until 10:00!  CRAZY!  He still took a nice long nap yesterday afternoon.  Today's nap was about 2 hours, which is an extra half hour for him.  Sleep = the happiest Asa. :)

2.  Matt caught a flight to CA today.  He'll be on a red eye back to us tonight since I'm full term and we wanted to minimize how long he's out of town... just in case.  Nothing to report, and in this case no news is definitely good news. :)

3.  The neighbors behind us are adding a screened porch or something onto the back of their house.  Every morning the crew is out there, Asa comes down the stairs and says, "Man!  Hi, man!  (out)Side man.  Winnow (window).  Hi, man!  Good!"  I'm not sure if the "good" is from being asked, "How are you?" and "Did you have a good sleep?" or if it's from the Jesus Storybook Bible creation story, where after creating each kind of thing, God says (for example), "Hello, birds!  You're good!" (because God made them).

4.  We have had a pretty low key week, which is nice because next week gets busier!  We have our check-up next Tuesday, ultrasound on Wednesday, Asa's birthday is Thursday (sniff, sniff, HOOOOOOW can he be 2???), Asa's 2 year well check up on Friday, and a little birthday party for him on Saturday.  Whew!  Think AR will stay put through all of that? ;)

5.  I cannot believe Asa will be 2 in less than a week, but I am excited to celebrate him.  And it's exciting to anticipate his reaction to gifts we have selected for him.  Oh how we love you, sweet boy!!  We will be SURE to post pictures of the birthday festivities. :)
