Asa's lovey blanket

One of the several things we accomplished yesterday was finding a lovey blanket for Asa. I realize he could become attached to most anything, but we hope to steer him toward a blanket for which we have a back-up!

Our original intention was for this dog (strategically placed to "hold" a sweet, soft blanket from Kerry and Preston) to be his lovey.

We bought it before I was fully thinking in mommy mode, I guess, because we only bought one (what was I thinking?). If Asa is anything like me (or some of his cousins), it will not do to go without his lovey if it gets left at a friend's or needs to be washed. So, while we still love the dog and will certainly encourage Asa to love on it, we needed a new "#1 lovey." We were back at square one.

Yesterday we stopped at a local consignment store that also carries some new items. I noticed they had lovey blankets last time we were there. I thought one of them even looked familiar... cuzzy C has a pink lamb by the same company! Yesterday I picked up a duck that was cute enough, but then I noticed a fuzzy brown head. What was this creature but.... and OWL!! That is PERFECT for all of Asa's little forest animal friends around his room!

We bought the last two owls the store had in stock, and we are very pleased to have a back-up now :) and love that they are OH-so-soft. The company that makes them must think like I do, because they actually offer them in sets of three at some stores (one for your home, one for grandma's, and one as a back-up, so their website claims). :)

We love those loves! I have never seen the owl! Both kiddos actually have them as we have a pink and a blue lamb. ;) If it makes you feel any better we have no back ups of any of brothers guys (we are up to 6) and only one back up out of sisters 4 loves!
When we headed to the hospital on Friday I grabbed the small blue dog that you gave brother for Christmas as he loves to suck on his ears. He was a great comfort during a crazy time! Thanks again! ;)
