Five on Friday

1.  I started doing some homeschool activities with Asa this week to support what he's doing in class, and we both have had so much fun!! Here's a sampling of what he did today (using the letter L as our launching point).

(Highlighting the letter L in this week's verse from school and practicing memorizing it, identifying numerals, identifying colors and working on fine motor coloring, highlighting letter L in another verse and following step by step pictorial directions to make a light/candle to go with it, a clay letter L snake, writing capital and lower case L/cutting out Ls and sorting and gluing them by capital or lower case. He also did some Handwriting Without Tears practice with letter L... And loved it all!! :)

2.  We had a picnic lunch today on the deck. :)

3.  Over the holiday weekend we visited Matt's family.  We even got to celebrate our niece's fifth birthday! On Sunday Poppy and Nana set up their pool for the kids. They loooooove water!

4. This weekend we get to celebrate my mom's birthday! :) I am so thankful we live close enough now to help celebrate the people we love in person.

5.  Our big events for the week as far as coordinating schedules were that our oven and upstairs air conditioner died--one day right after the other!  Thankfully, our sellers purchased a home warranty for us as part of our contract. The ac seems fixed and the oven will be back in commission next week when a part on order is delivered and installed.

5.  I also had a check up on Lila this week. My appointment included the big anatomy scan and everything looks good. She is measuring right on schedule.  I'll be 21 weeks on Monday! Even if I go 42 weeks again, we're halfway through!!

Have a great weekend. :)

It looks like Asa is having FUN while learning. (Thanks to his creative mom.) I love the picnic and pool pics. So glad your air conditioning is working...and that the stove will be fixed soon. :)

I completely understand about how exciting it is to celebrate birthdays in person! My mom will be moving back in 2 weeks and I can't wait!

Love the homeschool ideas :)
