On Friday morning I picked up an area rug for our new living room--thanks to G-Ma and Mimi helping entertain the kids while I met the lady selling it. :) It's still riding around in the van--we need to lug it out! ;)
Our big weekend event was a baby shower on Saturday. When I offered to help the hostesses, I was offered to bring some veggies & dip. My plan was to pick up the fresh veggies Friday but we had a big rain storm I did not wan to go out in. We had a relaxing evening at home instead and I headed out Saturday morning to pick up what I needed. I saw some cute ideas on Pinterest for using bell peppers as dip containers and making a flower out of the vegetables. After lunch I put the veggie trays together while Matt played with the kids, and then I headed out as he was getting them in bed for rest time. We had a sweet time celebrating the little boy joining our friends' family. :) I'm so glad I could go! The rest of Saturday we had dinner, the kids had a bubble bath, and then we got them in bed.
On Sunday we didn't have any huge events after church, but the kids did have a DELIGHTFUL time playing in the basement playroom for about an hour after dinner. They had So.Much.Fun. Matt and I just kept looking at each other, grinning and laughing, at how much they were enjoying themselves and each other. Sweet, sweet memories. And we had a small bit of adventure on our way home from my parents' after lunch. We knew a storm was coming, so we decided to try to beat it home. Instead we went straight through it--HAIL and all! EEK! Thankfully Asa thought it was "cool" that the windshield wipers brushed the "ice" right off the front of the car. ;) And also thankfully there was no damage to the van.
This week we do not have any significant plans that I know of at this point. We put off our big grocery shopping trip until tomorrow, but I did make our menu for the week. We've been trying lots of new recipes, and this week is a mix of new and old.
Pesto Ranch crock pot chicken
Monterey chicken
cubed steak (ha--an easy night as I'm having dinner out with my Bible study)
Caprese lasagna roll ups
Pizza (homemade)
spaghetti
Crock pot BBQ chicken
and for Memorial day, burgers :)

Love hearing about the fun in your basement :) - and wish there was a picture off the veggie tray. :) YEA for a great rug for your new home...and for a delicious sounding menu.
