Five on Friday

1.  We are wrapping up our 2nd to last week in Ohio.  It still doesn't seem real!  Last weekend Matt and Asa made a firetruck at Home Depot's kids' workshop, and then we had lunch at Melt in Cleveland and spent hours at the Cleveland Children's Museum.  The kids looooved the museum!

this cracked me up as neither of our kids has ANY idea what a corn dog is :)

2.  Our OH house has renters!  No more showings!!  WOOO HOOOOO! :)

3.  Our sweet Asa is battling some kind of virus.  He started running a fever yesterday, and it rose to almost 103 after his nap. :(  He was up in the night feeling nauseated (although thankfully he did not get sick), and his fever has been as high as 103.8 today WITH fresh meds in his system. :(  Lots of chills.  Lots of laying on the couch.  It's hard to see him feeling SO terribly. :(  I am thankful he has kept down the food we've convinced him to eat, but I do hope he's better soon.... and that the rest of us don't catch this!  NOT what we need when we move a week from Monday and I have all the "last minute" packing to get done!

4.  This is silly, but we managed to drag out a ton of trash last night that we had bagged as we cleaned out as we've gone through the home and packed.  Yea!  It feels so good to see open spaces instead of big, black trash bags.  This weekend will include some trips to the community recycling center and Goodwill, and then we'll have even MORE cleared out!

5.  An evening or two ago, Matt was on the floor driving monster trucks with Asa when AR found the third one we own and joined in the fun.  She is "copying" Asa more and more, and I love seeing her "get" what he's playing and dive in.  Soooo fun!

BONUS:  Yesterday morning I made pancakes for breakfast, and Anna Reaghan was sobbing because she wanted to start eating but I was still cooking them.  Sammy D always gets the first pancake, and then Asa who was not feeling great was nibbling on one while I finished cooking.  I gave AR 2 pieces of Sammy's before I gave it to the dog, but then I planned to just feed her more pancakes when I was done cooking.  Asa saw/heard that she was terribly disappointed and OF HIS OWN VOLITION started tearing pieces off HIS pancake and feedin them to her!!  I was SO proud of him!  What a kind heart he has.  He really does love his sister-sister. :)

I love this post. Except for Asa being sick. :( The museum looks like SO much fun! YAY for getting trash out - and for Asa being so sweet to AR. Less than a week until we SEE you!!! We can't wait!
