Five on Friday

1.  Our new mattress was delivered today!  WOO HOO!!  Hopefully we have had our last morning of rolling out of bed sore and stiff.  Sorry, honey, for taking so long to realize how bad it was.  See how many good things came of July 14th?  Anna Reaghan was born AND I came to my senses about the mattress being waaaay past its prime as soon as I wasn't pregnant anymore! :)

2.  We are waiting on Asa's *last* 2 year molar to break all the way through.  These have been a dooooozy.  Oh my goodness.  After this one, I think we should be done with teething until he loses a baby tooth or gets 6 year molars... whichever comes first.  His first year molars came in without even a hint they were there, but these 2 years have been a completely different story.  I'm so ready for Asa not to be miserable--and I'm sure he is too!

3.  We have had BEAUTIFUL and RAIN FREE weather this week that is supposed to last through the weekend and into the middle of next week.  I love love LOVE it!  I normally like to take weekends kind of slow, but I've been planning all the special, outdoor fall activities I can for these October weekends before the snow hits.  Tomorrow morning we are hoping to go to a pumpkin patch and then meet some friends at a park for a picnic in the afternoon.

4.  I finished a pair of pants for Asa, but I still need to make his matching shirt.  I also cut the material for a coordinating dress for Anna Reaghan.  Their first matching brother-sister outfit!  I can hardly wait (and hope I get it done before it's too late to wear it--it's fall themed and I am working around nap times and such, after all)! :)

5.  Both kids are just growing and changing so much.  Asa is getting taller and taller.  He is now speaking in first person most of the time (although he had an adorable exception yesterday:  when I tried the pants I sewed on him to decide where to hem them, he looked down at himself and exclaimed, "Asa look AWESOME!"  Love.that.boy.).  He "gets" opposites and thinks they are hilarious.  His sentences get longer and longer.  He has the memory of an elephant.  He doesn't forget a single thing you tell him.  He loves recounting Bible stories.  He loves singing along with new songs and dancing to them.  He knows the first three Catechism questions and we're working on 2 more (one he knows the other he about half knows).  He is recognizing letters and numbers.  He loves counting (12 is his new favorite).  Anna Reaghan is now 12 weeks old--she'll be 3 months old next week (the day before our 6th anniversary!)!  She is also getting taller and taller.  She is laughing, smiling up a storm, sucking her fist and occasionally her thumb, loves staring at her feet (especially if she is wearing something with "decorated" feet), her hair is getting even longer, and she is starting to grab things (especially my shirt when she's eating).  Her next photo shoot is next month!  I wouldn't mind terribly if she'd hurry up and get through the newborn gassy stomach phase, BUT other than that time needs to slow down!
