1. Anna Reaghan is really starting to stretch out her night time feedings (at least for now!). Two times this week she went 10-11 hours between feedings. That just seems so, completely wild to me after having Asa! :) I'm not sleeping that whole time, but both nights she stayed asleep once we got her to sleep (i.e. no gas issues until she was ready to eat). I am thankful! REAL sleep! Woo hoo!
2. Anna Reaghan turned 2 months old and had her 2 month check up. Our doctor declared her beautiful and "perfect from head to toe." We'll take that. ;) Asa was also great at the doctor's office (my first time taking both of them by myself). AR did get one shot (we break up the shots we give so the kids don't get more than one at a particular appointment), and she calmed very quickly from that. Asa never had any symptoms after getting a shot, but AR was just not herself the rest of the day. :( I'm glad she's feeling better now!
3. Asa got some major boo-boos on Thursday. Lately he's been watching Team Umi Zoomi (a math oriented show) while I feed AR in the morning, then I'll take her upstairs to get her dressed. He usually wants to finish watching his show, but occasionally he changes his mind. Because of that, I leave the bottom gate unlatched so he can climb upstairs and join me if he wants to. In the past, he has stayed upstairs with me and then we walk back down together. He can walk down the stairs holding onto the railing, but he's not quite as sure-footed as I'd like to totally trust him alone (you see where this is going now, don't you?). On Thursday, he decided to try going back downstairs. He was on the 3rd step from the top or so, but holding on with both hands watching the show through the banister. I told him to stay there and darted into his room to grab him some clothes for the day. The next thing I knew, I heard my sweet baby boy tumbling down the stairs and crashing into the gate. It was AWFUL. He started screaming, of course, so I laid AR on the floor of the loft and ran down the stairs to scoop him up. He held onto me so tight! I tried to calm him down so I could assess the injuries. At that point, I felt a big knot on the back of his head. Then I pulled my hand away and it felt sticky--he was bleeding. He also had a huge knot on his forehead that was bleeding and an abrasion on his nose. Thankfully the knots only had superficial cuts from the skin being stretched so much as they swelled, and they stopped bleeding quickly. He earned the right to watch the movie Cars that day though (normally reserved for only very special occasions/car trips). He took a 3 hour nap on Thursday! I was starting to get worried, but then I heard his precious little voice chattering away when he woke up. We are SOOO thankful that not only is Asa okay, but his injuries were minor and not requiring medical attention (stitches) in the grand scheme of things. We love him so much!!
4. Matt's parents are coming to visit this weekend, and this visit will be his dad's first time to meet Anna Reaghan! We are so glad they are coming and that we get to spend the weekend with them. :) I'm sure there will be pictures next week and a recap of our time with Nana and Poppy.
5. Fall has arrived. Thursday's high as in the 50s and our low was supposed to reach the 30s overnight. The kids wore long sleeved outfits yesterday! The crispness is suddenly predominant in the air. It's almost like it happened overnight! For the first time I can ever recall, it makes me a little sad. I have always loved fall, but now as an Ohio resident, I think it reminds me winter is coming.... very quickly. I will choose to be thankful for fall.... however short-lived it ends up being!
BONUS: We (Asa, AR, and I) got to attend our first Bible study meeting of the fall on Wednesday. It was so nice to be back, even though Anna Reaghan's dr. appointment and needing to eat meant I was only there for 30 minutes. :)
