We had a fun, family weekend! :) Yea for family time!
Friday: Matt got to leave work right before 5! Unfortunately, traffic was slow all over the place, so he didn't get home til 6:00. But we had dinner ready to roll, were so excited to have him home for the weekend (and know we made it through another week on our own!), and we were all looking forward to a fun weekend together. After dinner (I even sprinkled a TINY bit of cheese on my tacos... living on the wild side here! We decided to dip our toes into some mild dairy foods to see how AR would respond), we went for a walk. Anna Reaghan is making peace with the car seat (much sooner than Asa did!), so that is a a nice treat. You can feel the crispness of Fall arriving in the air! :) :) :)
Saturday: After getting everyone fed and dressed, we hopped in the van and headed north. I wanted to check out a craft store on the other side of the big city that I thought had some fun hair bow supplies. And next door to the craft store was a new natural foods market I thought might have some dairy free offerings I haven't been able to find in town. The craft sore was great, but the grocery store was a bust. We came home for lunch and nap time and then headed back out to an art exhibition at out favorite park. Asa loved seeing the pond and especially the small fish (Matt said they're brim) in the pond. When we visited a small playground section at the park, Asa liked going up and down the "ramp" (small incline) entrance and saying he was a race car. :) Asa and Anna Reaghan both had baths, and we chilled for the evening.
Sunday: Our return to church as a family! Matt took Asa one week, but Asa had a rough go of it and caught a stomach bug on top of that. So we've taken our time getting back into the swing of things. We were planning to go to Sunday school last week, but it was canceled. Asa did great in his new 2 year old classroom, and AR was as quiet as could be--sleeping half the time and flashing Daddy and Mommy huge smiles the other half. :) LOVE the social smile development. :) Then we stopped by Target, had lunch, naps, and relaxed at home for the evening. Asa had a BLAST playing with a light up bouncy ball right before bed (energy courtesy of the soy ice cream sandwich he had after dinner ;) ).
Saturday especially was a sweet time to get out and be together as a family. So thankful that next weekend is a LONG family weekend! Woo hoo!
