New Recipes!

I have 2 new recipes to share.  One is a copycat recipe of a delicious salad at Applebee's.  Next time you're there, try the oriental chicken salad.... or just make it at home!  YUM!

Oriental Dressing
3 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard
1/8 teaspoon sesame oil

Salad
chicken (fried, oven "fried," whatever suits your taste)
3 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1 package cole slaw
1 tablespoon sliced almonds
1/3 cup chow mein noodles

Directions
Blend together all ingredients for dressing in a small bowl with an electric mixer.
Put dressing in refrigerator to chill while you prepare the salad.
Prepare salad by tossing the chopped romaine with the cole slaw.
Sprinkle almonds over the salad, then the chow mein noodles.
Cut the chicken into small bite-size chunks.
Place the chicken onto the salad forming a pile in the middle.
Serve with salad dressing drizzled over it or on the side.

Secondly is a recipe from the Southern Living at Home Easy Weeknight Favorites cookbook.  We just tried it for the first time last night, and it was delicious!  These teriyaki burgers were soooo good.  The flavor is also extremely close to the filling for lettuce wraps (another recipe I hope to try soon).  You won't be sorry you tried them! :)

Hamburgers Teriyaki
1 1/2 pounds of ground beef
3 Tbsp teriyaki or soy sauce ( I had soy on hand)
1 Tbsp honey
1 tsp salt
3/4 tsp ground ginger
2 cloves garlic, minced
hamburger buns
Lettuce leaves (we had some tasty crisp romaine)
