Today was the last day of school until January, and as much as I love my class... BOY was I ready!!! I was a little worried last week about how they'd hold up with all the excitement, but overall I'd say we fared pretty well. :) And now I can rest, rest, rest! Last Friday and today I took 2 hour naps when I got home! But Baby K is up to about 4 inches long (how incredible is that???), so it makes sense that I'm dragging. :) I also felt nauseous all day again today... it's been a week or two since that happened. Makes me thankful it's not so frequent anymore!
I am really getting antsy to work on the nursery, but #1 I am exhausted, and #2 for some aspects we'd like to wait until we know if it's a boy or a girl (still going strong with the all BLUE gut feeling). My mom sent me the measurements of the crib and changing table/dresser we have waiting up in TN, so I measured the room today and have played around with different floor plans. It's amazing to think how different it will be. We will actually have OUR baby living in that room! We have all the furniture except for something to sit on (i.e. rocking chair), so it's nice to know almost all of it is ready and waiting once the room is cleared out.
Tonight we are going out to eat to celebrate my last day of school for the year. Wow--my last year of (classroom) teaching is essentially half over. It's passing SO SO quickly.
We have our next appointment on Monday. We are praying for the doctor to again quickly find a strong heartbeat! It should be a pretty in-and-out appointment still. No big concerns on our part, so just the usual vitals, hopefully a heartbeat (please pray!), and then we'll be on our way out to lunch to celebrate. Later next week we hit the road to celebrate Christmas with our families. We'll be in SC first, which I am very excited about because we haven't seen Matt's family since we told them about the baby. Also, our niece Isabella is over 3 months old now! We haven't seen her since the week she was born! She has grown so much in the pictures we've seen. And then when we get to TN, Samuel will be almost 2. I'm sure time will seem to pass even more quickly when it's our own little one, but that doesn't quite seem possible! We are looking forward to some much-anticipated time with family and friends. :)
I guess that's about all for now. We hope you've been doing well, and we'll let you know how Monday goes. Again, please pray that everything is well and the baby is still healthy and strong! Even though it's early, I have felt some tapping and flutters, which is a sweet assurement. And lo and behold, the stretch marks have started. While most women bemoan them, I actually started laughing when I saw it, grinned at Matt, and said, "Yes! That's a good sign! Something is growing in there!!" Hey, you've got to find a silver lining, right? :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
