1. We have spent a lot of time on the yard. We weeded the front flower beds, completely started from scratch in the bed around the mailbox, got a new trimmer when the old one's motor burned up, and there's still some fine tuning to go. But it's nice to have a fresh start after all that work! Asa love love looooooved helping Matt out. Outside + Daddy time = one very happy Asa.
2. We also made our second visit to the children's hospital ER here. A week and a half ago, we were at my parents' house and Asa was playing "drag racing" with my dad. They zoomed through the house, but Asa stopped suddenly in a doorway causing my dad to trip over him. Poor G-Pa's kneed rammed right into the back of Asa's head--they were both in pain! When we tried to load up the kids to leave about 20 minutes later, Asa started feeling sick. When we actually moved him to the van he threw up. :( We knew at that point we were looking at a concussion. We (thankfully) haven't dealt with head injuries previously, so my immediate thought was ER. I realized in the ER waiting room we could have called our pediatrician for guidance, but we were already in the waiting room. ;) And Asa did start to feel sick again while we waited, so I think we made the right call. After we were called back to be seen, the ER doctor came right away--I was prepared for a lot more waiting. ;) He said it was a mild concussion but his neurological evaluation looked good and that Asa was starting to act normally again was a good sign. On the way to the ER he stared quietly out the window or tried to talk but lost his train of thought--both very unusual for Asa. He was THRILLED to eat an orange popsicle while we waited for some zofran to kick in for his nausea/observation before we headed home. Thankfully I was able to nurse Lila down for her nap before we went to the ER, and trooper that she was she made it until we got back home. We had a plan in place for Matt to bring the girls to the hospital and we'd trade--I'd take the girls home to feed them and get them in bed while Matt stayed with Asa--if needed. But the doctor said we could go ahead and get home to our girls. Other than being a little sensitive to jostling for a few days, Asa was totally back to normal by bedtime. We did wake him when we went to bed--the doctor said we could for peace of mind--to make sure he was okay and he was fine. I'm so so thankful. You never know what a day will bring!
3. We have not completely decked out the house for fall yet. It's only the 3rd of October... and it's in the 80s outside. I was hoping to wait until it's a little cooler first. Probably in a week or two. But I did put together this little wreath to kick us off and welcome fall!
4. Lila turned 8 months old this week! HOOOOOW is that possible? Hopefully I can make a post all about Lila at 8 months, but briefly--she is happy (especially when Mommy is holding her), she is eating and trying new foods, she is MOBILE, and she still has fluffy hair. :)
5. Sibling fun:
-sisters!
-"sleep over" in Mommy & Daddy's bed "like big grown ups"

LOVE these picures. (Did not love the ER - although the doctor was wonderful and Asa surely enjoyed his popsicle.) :)
