Five on Friday

We keep plugging away at house projects around here--increasingly they are becoming "Lila projects" rather than house projects. ;)  But that's good news--that means we are getting closer to meeting her and that we are trying to make things ready for her to come home!

1.  We *finally* hung Anna Reaghan's name over her crib.  I didn't realize "Reaghan" would stretch the entire length of the crib, so seeing it hung I think I'd like "Anna" centered above it.  But overall, we really like how it turned out and we saved the wall from trying to line up a million nails for the letters.

AR's name on the wall (before we moved the crib back into place)

2.  We finished decorating the tree!  One morning Anna Reaghan fully engaged in what she was playing, so Asa snuck off to the next room to help me put more ornaments on the top half of the tree. :)

O Christmas tree.....
(I took some better pictures today with our "real" camera... hoping to upload those soon)

3.  Painter's tape... it can mean one thing....

We are painting Lila's room!  First the room needed 2 coats of Kilz to seal out the green color from the previous owners (I really didn't mind the color so much--it worked with our guest bedding actually!  But it's not Lila's color ;) ).

Asa has wanted to help every step of the way!

Kilz white walls...

Now we have a coat of light lavender on all the walls!

My two big helpers painting their baby sister's walls!!

The next step will be to measure, mark, and tape vertical stripes on 2 of the walls and then paint them a medium shade of lavender!  THANK YOU THANK YOU to my mom who has come over to paint!!!

4.  We played musical furniture last weekend and switched everything around except for moving AR's crib to Lila's room and the second crib up from the garage to AR's room.  That will happen when we complete painting Lila's room.

5.  Asa preschool class hosted a sweet Christmas program with the other 4 year old class yesterday.  They sang a few songs and played bells to a few songs.  Asa was coming down with something/getting over croup and a bit overwhelmed by all the people, but we were so thankful to see him and his friends and have G-Pa and G-Ma join us too.  After the program, Anna Reaghan went home with my parents so Matt & I could attend Asa's gingerbread decorating party and give him our full attention.  It was a sweet time.  I savor whatever snippets of one-on-one I can get with Asa or Anna Reaghan right now knowing that soon we'll be adding Lila to the mix.  He was much  more relaxed and himself decorating the gingerbread house and had a lot of fun.  It was extra special to have Matt come too!

Caught a smile in the midst of the nerves!

This weekend we have 2 birthday parties, some fudge to make for our neighbors, and a few stocking stuffers to gather.  Matt is at the tail end of a cold, Asa & AR are getting over croup, and I have caught SOMEone's crud along with all of them.  Hopefully we all will be better by the end of the weekend.... because I can't believe it's less than a week until Christmas!!
