Tonight I prepared the kids' favors. I just need a little bag to put them in. I also got the party hats almost ready (adults' are done, kids are done step 1 of 2, step 2 will be done later), and I gathered the pieces I need for our table decor. Thank you, Silhouette! The cutter comes to the rescue again!
Earlier today I made a ribbon wrap to go around the front of AR's high chair when she has her first bite of cake! I think it turned out cute. I'm sure you'll see it in pictures. :)
This morning we went to a wild animal ranch with friends from church. We rode in a wagon up and down the hills of Amish country feeding deer, water buffalo (I totally taught Asa to say, "Buffalo Joe"), llamas, alpacas, highland cattle, camels, ostriches, zebras, and a few other guys (I'll have to check my brochure--those are what I recall off the top of my head). Asa was SO brave and even sat up front with the "cowboy" (it was actually a Mennonite or Amish man driving! But Asa thought he was a cowboy--too cute) and steered the wagon!!! I was so proud of him for taking a risk and trying something new! He was pretty amazed himself. :) After our wagon ride we walked through a little petting zoo and got to "soft" (what Asa calls petting) baby goats & baby cows, hold some baby ducklings, see piglets, an alligator, bunnies, chickens, pheasant, and peacocks. Lots of the baby animals we saw (deer, ducklings, piglets, bunnies, llamas, etc.) were even just 1 week old--some as young as 3 days! Hooray for visiting the "ranch" in spring! I left my camera in the car at the last minute thinking it might be unwieldy while wearing Anna Reaghan and holding onto Asa and our feed buckets. All I have are camera phone pictures. I'll try to get some from our friends and post them later. We had a really good time. :)
