Over the past 2 days, I have considered texting Matt a picture of Anna Reaghan with the caption, "Fussy's my name and fussing's my game." Seriously. I cannot step 2 feet away from her before wailing, huge tears, and a totally snotty face ensue. I grabbed my trusty Wonder Weeks book thinking it was too soon for the next wonder week. Sure enough, the wonder weeks chart informed me that we are not at a wonder week BUT we ARE at the exact point in time babies learn mommies can walk away and put distance between themselves and baby. She is learning we are not one-in-the-same. Heaven forbid I get dressed, cook dinner, or use the bathroom without having Anna Reaghan on my hip! ;) It really is kind of ridiculous how terrrrrrrible Anna Reaghan makes it sound. But it is hilarious to hear Asa call out to her, "Anna Reaghan, it's okay! It's okay! It's okay! It's okay! You be all right, Anna Reaghan! You be all right!'
When Anna Reaghan sobbed while I dressed this morning, I asked Asa if he would go sit next to her so she wouldn't be alone (she was sitting on the floor in our room, and I was walking back and forth between my dresser and the closet). He was so sweet--he plopped down right next to her, made sure she had a toy, and then picked up one of her toys and entertained himself. I peeked my head out of the closet when I heard her stop crying, and it was the sweetest thing to see the two of them sitting and playing side by side. I hope this is just a glimpse of the fun they will have together as Anna Reaghan grows older and can play with Asa. I can only imagine the fun (and stories) in store!! :) He is such a sweet big brother to her.... she had just better learn to love cars, tractors, and all things construction vehicles. ;)
