Six on Saturday--Christmas Eve Edition

1.  We celebrated our Ohio Christmas last weekend.  I still need to load pictures and I'll make a special post all about it, but we had a wonderful time and Asa made it 1000x extra fun.  He was SO excited.  I could just eat him up. :)

2.  On Wednesday we drove to the NE side of Cleveland to see a pediatrician who is also a LC and clips posterior tongue ties.  She clipped Anna Reaghan's!  She did GREAT!  The worst part of the whole thing is always holding the baby still.  The actual clipping was just with sterile scissors from a suture kit and takes not even 5 seconds.  She hardly bled at all and started resting her tongue farther forward/over her bottom gums RIGHT AWAY.  That night as I put her pjs on her, she kept sticking her tongue out and playing with it (just like Asa did the day his was clipped).  While her latch is still a tad shallow, that seems to just be out of habit and we'll work on it after Christmas.  But she is stimulating let downs ON HER OWN (without me doing compressions to get them going) and needs much less support from me to get a reasonable latch.  She is nursing to contentment now.  We are doubling up on feedings, so that should help get my supply up and her weight caught up in return.  We are so so so thankful for Dr. W being willing to assist us.

3.  Asa had a fever of 102.8 when we got home that night!  And he'd had explosive... diaper issues all day.  To the point he needed baths.  Then on the way to get Matt for our appointment, the GPS wasn't working.  Then the highway came to a standstill--a little bit of an issue when you have an appointment to keep.  The Enemy was fighting us on every turn with this, but God gave a way out at each turn (the first doctor we called being very skeptical and not helpful, the GPS finally found satellite--after 15 minutes of trying, I was able to take a detour on side roads, I packed extra outfits for Asa as he DID indeed explode again at the doctor's office 1.5 hours from home).  We are so thankful for God's care to us that day.

4.  We have safely arrived in Tennessee to celebrate Christmas with Becca's family.  No carsickness on this trip, and pretty flexible backseat passengers (note:  Bonine helps Asa's carsickness... it also makes him so tired that he is suuuuuper grouchy--yikes!).  AR took 2 bottles (and I pumped in the car) and did great!

5.  I managed to squeeze about 15 minutes out of packing time on Thursday for me to whip up some matching flannel pj pants for Christmas morning.  I am really excited about that. :)  They also have matching smocked outfits for the Christmas Eve service tonight.

6.  Asa and AR both have festive clothes to wear for each day of our trip.  Is it awful that I'm totally geeked out about that? :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!!
