Five on Friday

1.  This has been my first week on my own with both kids.  Mom was here Anna Reaghan's first two weeks while Matt worked, and then Matt took off the 3rd week last week when Mom went back to TN.  God has been so merciful--we've had a great week!  I mean, I'm tiiired but not exhausted.  I'm ready for the weekend, but I'm not desperate. :)  We've had a fun time together, the kids have had overlapping naps for at least some amount of time every day, and I've even had times every day to give Asa one-on-one attention while AR has napped in our room.  Awesome!!  I couldn't ask for much more at this point. :)

2.  We've been blessed by our small group at church with meals every other day.  They have been a huge blessing, time saver, and stress reducer, not to mention very tasty. :)  We are SO thankful for our friends and their delicious cooking! :)

3.  I ventured out for my first solo trip on Tuesday.  I was more excited than nervous and wondered if that might be a tad naive of me, but it went great!  We just went to Walmart (I read online their store brand of chocolate chips are dairy free and was intrigued by the idea of still getting to eat chocolate chip cookies right now while I'm avoiding dairy for AR!), but no one cried!  That is an accomplishment, if I do say so myself. :)

4.  We also went to Kohl's on Thursday.  That was more of a challenge, because there were no carts for Asa to ride in.  He does great at holding hands, but we usually stick him in a cart, in a stroller, or wear him with my mei tai.  He was as sweet as could be, never resisted holding my hand, and we used a free $10 gift card we got in the mail to get a clearanced necklace for me and a pair of shorts for Asa.  He has shot up in height this summer, but that means he's thinned out even more.  The shorts that fit him in the waist at the beginning of summer are a bit loose now and tend to work their way down (think "pants on the ground").  This pair was only $2 and khaki, so it will even work for church and help us get through this last stretch of summer.

5.  Our weekend plans include the following possibilities:  going to BRU to pick up the baby book I finally settled on for Anna Reaghan, checking out a consignment store, and welcoming G-Ma back for a visit! :)  Yea!
