Five on Friday

1.  Anna Reaghan is TWO weeks (and one day) old!  That is crazy! :)

2.  I took her for her 2 week weight check, and she's back to birth weight!  She's gaining more than an ounce per day and is doing great!  This is WONDERFUL news since Asa struggled even a little bit from the very beginning (if only we'd known about his tongue early on!).  I am extra amazed as she goes longer stretches between eating than Asa did--more like 3 hours during the day (and even then I often have to wake her) and 4 hours at night was the longest we were letting her go (again, usually having to wake her).  Since she's back to birth weight and gaining well, we let her go longer than 4 hours last night, but are keeping her to no more than 3 hours between feedings during the day (she's more than welcome to eat sooner than that, but I'm waking her at the 3 hour mark during the day and offering her a chance to eat).  Last night she had a 6 hour stretch between feedings (11 pm - 5 am)!  What?!  Asa didn't do that until he was over 6 months old.  I know she'll hit a growth spurt and it will all go out the window for a time, but I'm amazed.  And SO thankful that despite fewer feedings than Asa, she's gaining GREAT!

3.  Asa is so sweet to her and loves to tell her good morning, good night, give her kisses (we're encouraging him to kiss her on her "fluffies" (her hair--he often tells us it's fluffy), her tummy, and her toes).  He tells us whenever he hears her "squeak" or cry.  He wants to show her all his toys and everything he loves.  He LOVES to hold her in his lap.  He is such a sweet big brother.

4.  After encouraging Asa to kiss Anna Reaghan's toes, he insisted on kissing Mommy's toes, too. hehe

5.  Matt is home with us next week!  Let the newborn and family of four adventure continue!
